Learning to Sew

I have always wanted to be the type of mom that creates all her kids Halloween costumes. I have never felt particularly talented, but I love to create!

So, I watched A LOT of youtube videos and went to work sewing. I still wasn't quite sure of myself, so I enlisted the help of a very talented friend to help me out.

I am still learning, but I am enjoying the ride. The friendship I have made with Sister Suzi will be treasured for a lifetime.

Suzi put the applique on, but the dress was all me!
Not going to lie, bloomers are hardwork! But they are so cute!
I made these key fobs. I love them, super simple and very sturdy.

Cards

I have an enormous bin of scrap papers that have been used in several different projects over the years. I made a goal to use up some of these scraps. I made three cards all from scrap papers. It is challenging at times to stretch my imagination and come up with something new.

My next challenge is going to be making some fancy fold cards and then also create all the items I want to enter into this year's Canfield Fair!

Graduation Gift Card Holder

I was so excited to try something new this year. Maymay is one of my favorite youtubers and she made these awesome gift card holders. Here is the link to her tutorial: https://www.maymaymadeit.com/blogs/news/tues-project-3

Here are my cards I made using the tutorial.

Mudding at Grandma's!

Many of my fondest childhood memories have been at my Grandparent's 15 acre ranch. So, naturally I want my daughter to have that same nostalgia that I have for the ranch and my grandparents.

When ever we go Lyla loves to go for walks. This particular time she found a small puddle. At first, she lightly tapped her foot in the puddle and eventually went all in and sat down!

Afterwards she went for a walk in the garden admiring all my Grandpa's hard work.

She then had a nice refreshing bath in Grandma's kitchen sink.

Traveling to Utah/Idaho

This summer we traveled to Utah/Idaho to visit family and friends. Now that Lyla's heart is fully repaired we are able to travel and have a much more normal life.

While in Utah, Lyla ate corn from the cob! She got her first two molars and ate dirt! Yay!

Thanks to my small bladder we found this little gem along the way. We enjoyed walking around in the little museum. If my memory serves me correctly, this was in Wyoming.

Here are some photos of the car ride. We enjoyed coloring and watching movies. Three days in the car and our little Bean handled it like a champ. As for me....I think I never want to watch Tangled or Frozen again!!!!!!!

Elmo had the adventure of a lifetime!

Mother's Day Cards

I think two years is a very long time not to blog.

But then again, I had a baby with a CHD and life will never be the same again.

I tried a new water color technique on my mother's day cards.
