Nicole's Album

My best-friend Nicole asked me to make her an album of our wedding pics...for a Christmas Present in 2011...Well, I just finished it....Only a year and a half later.

What do you think?

Notebook

I have made several notebooks for several people...but I have never had the opportunity to keep one for myself. Tonight after I sorted out nearly a thousand beads that I accidentally dropped on the floor last February.... I made this cute Church Notebook for myself. I needed a new one to write notes in at church. I haven't had one in awhile....I love to write down quotes....So... here it is!!! Don't be jealous! Kidding, kidding.

Toilet Paper Mini Album

A long time ago I caught wind of people making albums out of Toilet Paper Rolls......

I then posted on facebook asking all my friends to save their toilet paper rolls for me. I have hundreds of them now and this is the album I created out of them.

If you want to learn how to make one email me and I will be happy to tell you how I did it. If you live near the Youngstown, Ohio area....I would be happy to create a kit for you and teach you to assemble it.

Birthday & Father's Day Cards

It has been awhile since I have completed a project..... ha ha (I have a ton started...just not completed)

Here is the Father's Day Card that I mad for Mark's Dad

I just love it. I believe on a previous post I explained what kind of paper I used and everything.
I used tie brads from the eyeletoutlet! Love them!

Also here is my Mother-In-Law's Birthday Card
And I just found out that I forgot to take a picture of my sister-in-law's card! Oh, well..... It was a beautiful card that had butterflies stamped on it and ultra fine glitter and the works. So much fun!

Ham & Cheese Pockets.....and more.

I seriously struggle with ideas for dinner. I have to keep it in my carb range and still make sure my hubby gets enough to eat too. Mark usually only eats breakfast and dinner. He goes to school all day and doesn't stop to eat. I wish I could do that.... I always tease him and ask if he has a hump like a camel....He doesn't laugh :-)

So, I went in search of budget friendly recipes and found this one. I used lunch meat ham from the store and Swiss cheese.....

Ham & Cheese Pocket Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tube refrigerated biscuits {we used Jumbo Flaky, Walmart brand}
  • Sliced Ham
  • Swiss Cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg white to seal the biscuits
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing on the top {optional}
  • Sprinkle of oregano {optional}
Instructions
  1. Slice ham and shred cheese, set aside (any ham, any cheese)
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray
  4. Flatten out biscuits with your fingers, until about double in size
  5. Lay ham on one side of biscuit, add some cheese
  6. Lightly brush egg white on one side of biscuit, fold over and seal with fork dipped in egg white
  7. Lightly brush on melted butter and sprinkle with oregano {optional}
  8. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown

    They are 12 carbs each...which means I could eat 2 and still have fruit with my dinner....So, we carrots, bananas, and grapes for dinner.

    I accidently bought grapes with seeds....and I just have to say... not my favorite.

Memorial Day Weekend

I am so grateful when I get a break from work. I love three day weekends that I get to spend in my craft room and play, play, play!

This weekend I made two Father's Day cards. I had a blast.

I used the Jillibean Soup "Macho Nacho Soup" Paper that has several rows of ties in all different styles! So, fun! There is also a coordinating sheet that has vintage televisions...So, it was perfect for my father-in-law's card. He will attend church in the morning hence the ties...and then when he gets home he can kick up his feet an relax! So fun. I will post a picture of the card after Father's day, so as not to spoil his surprise.....!!!

I also found cute tie brads at the eyelet outlet and they matched so perfectly!

Tomorrow is memorial day and I so excited to get to go watch my dad in a parade. My dad is in the local chapter of the Marine Corps League and he loves to march and serve in the league. This will be the first time I get to see him in a parade because it is actually on a Monday and not Sunday!

I promise to post pictures later.

~Thanks for stopping by~

Hugs!

It seems like forever!!!!

It seems like forever since I have written on my blog. Some people may think I have abandoned it! Not so!

It has been a hard couple of months. On February 1st, 2013, Mark and I realized that I had not had a menstrual cycle in awhile. In fact it had been since Thanksgiving! Whoops! I thought I had the flu in December because I was so tired and achy.

It wasn't until my birthday that I realized that I hadn't had a cycle in January so, Mark got me a test and we found out that we were expecting! Holy Cow!

Unfortunately, we lost the baby a short three weeks later. We were just one week from finding out the sex of the baby. I was heartbroken. I still have a box of items I bought for our sweet little one.

I think the only solace I have is that I will be able to see that baby again. I just have a to continue on the right path and keep my covenants I made in the temple.

I am not going to lie. I cry daily about the loss. I know that many people may feel that I shouldn't, but for me...I never thought there was even a small chance of being a mother and when that small chance turned into a reality and then was taken just as quick..it left me devastated.

I am grateful to my class of 6th graders,  with out them I don't think I would have made it through. One of my students who I cant name, has helped me so much. I don't think he will ever know how much! He is the reason I got into education in the first place. His smile and big heart helps me daily. I know he has a family that loves him, but I am grateful to share in that love as well. He comes into my class daily and talks to me about his life, he jokes and plays daily, and he gives me hugs that heal all my wounds.

If I never get to have my own children, I will have the cherished memory of the kids in my 6th grade class.

OK! Enough of the sad stuff!

March was pretty good and April even better! I have so many pictures to share too! Stay tuned as I get caught up!

Love,

Corissa

Craft Show Previews...Continued...

One of the greatest perks to being a teacher in Ohio is........ Inclement Weather Days!!!!

I was hard at work in my craft room ........... I was really worried that I wouldn't have enough stuff done to sell at the craft show.............But when I put my mind to it..............I can really get things done.

I have had a blast yet again today....working 4 hours in the craft room. Most of the time I was coming up with ideas... and organizing...but I think that these cards are beautiful!

Glasses Case...One of a Kind!

Judy and I found these cool wooden cases at Michaels... I immediately thought I would make it into a case for my glasses.

I just love my Tim Holtz stamp set! The butterfly is embossed on it....
